Editoria11y promotes accessibility in a unique way. Its tools are highly effective at helping non-technical authors prepare content that can be enjoyed equally by disabled Web users. We consider this a public good, so Editoria11y will always be free to use.

Editoria11y is not, however, free to develop or support.

The "Community Supported Add-ons" (CSA) project fills the gap: project members fund the development of the Editoria11y library, its CMS plugins, and the CSA suite: a rapidly growing set of quality assurance tools that provide similar functionality to commercial products, open-source and on-prem.

The CSA suite for Drupal is currently free in beta, and will arrive for WordPress in Q3 2026.

CSA membership through contributions

Since the CSA provides self-hosted and open-source tools, we have very little overhead. ~€9/site/month is enough to hire developers and support our users. Comparable commercial tools charge €15 (basic checkers) to €1000+ (unlimited page dashboards) per site per month.

CSA membership through partnership

License keys can be directly purchased, but there are many other ways to support a project:

  • Subscription credits for approved contributions of time and effort.
  • Subscription credits for directly sponsored work and partnerships.
  • Subscription credits for pre-approved major contributions of time and effort to improve the accessibility of related open source projects.

Subscriptions renew at the same contribution level by default.

If you choose to change your contribution level at renewal, note that all tiers have access to the same plugin features, but not all tiers are eligible for the same membership benefits. Consult the chart at the top of the page.
