Editoria11y ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website editoria11y.com. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, who processes it on our behalf, and what rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data-protection laws.

The data controller responsible for your personal data is:

2. What data we collect — and what we do not

2.1 This website

The editoria11y.com website is a static site hosted on GitHub Pages. It does not set cookies, does not run analytics scripts, and does not collect or store any personal data on its own. No tracking pixels, fingerprinting, or behavioral profiling of any kind takes place on our pages.

2.2 Hosting logs

GitHub Pages may collect limited server-access logs (such as IP addresses) as part of its infrastructure. This processing is governed by GitHub's Privacy Statement. We do not have access to those logs.

3. Third-party services that may process your data

While the website itself does not collect personal data, certain linked services we rely on for purchases, communication, and project management do process personal data. When you interact with these services, their respective privacy policies apply.

3.1 Freemius — purchases and licensing

If you purchase an Editoria11y add-on subscription, the transaction is processed by Freemius, Inc. Freemius collects payment details, name, email address, and related billing information necessary to complete and manage your purchase. Freemius acts as both a data controller (for its own service operations) and a data processor (on our behalf for license management).

Legal basis: Performance of a contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in operating the business (Article 6(1)(f)).

3.2 JotForm — contact forms

Our contact form is provided by JotForm Inc. When you submit a form, JotForm collects whatever information you provide (typically your name, email address, and message). Submission data is hosted on JotForm's EU-based servers.

Legal basis: Your consent when you choose to submit the form (Article 6(1)(a)) and our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries (Article 6(1)(f)).

3.3 Google Workspace — email

If you email us, your message is processed through Google Workspace (Gmail). Google may process sender and recipient addresses, message content, and metadata in accordance with its own data-protection commitments.

Legal basis: Our legitimate interest in communicating with users and partners (Article 6(1)(f)).

3.4 GitHub & GitLab — issue queues and forums

Bug reports, feature requests, and community discussions take place on GitHub and GitLab. When you create an account or post to these platforms, they process your username, email address, and any content you submit.

Legal basis: Our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the project (Article 6(1)(f)).

4. International data transfers

Some of the third-party services listed above are based in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA), these providers rely on safeguards recognized under GDPR, including the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), or other approved transfer mechanisms. Please refer to each provider's privacy documentation for details.

JotForm stores contact-form submission data on EU-based servers, minimizing cross-border transfers for that data.

5. Data retention

This website does not collect personal data directly.

Data held by third-party services is retained according to their respective policies and any applicable legal obligations. We periodically review and delete data that is no longer needed.

6. Your rights under the GDPR

If you are located in the EEA, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@editoria11y.com. We will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. A list of EEA data protection authorities is available at edpb.europa.eu.

7. Children's privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted prominently on the website. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
